eco-village

An eco-village is a place where everything is friendly with the environment, where the people have a life most healthy.

A day at an eco-village, will be very funny, 'cause the people here strive to integrate a supportive social environment with a low-impact way of life. I think that at an eco-village, we don't have some mall near, we will have to search ours meals, that don't be always meat, will be more vegetables and meals healthy, we will use the solar energy to heat water, recycle water, using it for bathing, washing clothes, the car will use less

I would love live in an eco-village 'cause must be amazing, live far far away from pollution, living in a place where not exist the stress of the big city.will be more relax and beautiful be surrounded by nature

1) What's the compost?
The compost is a mix between green materials and organic waste.

2) Which is the use of the compost?
we use the compost for fertilize the land.

3) What is the green materials?
Is the fruit peels, grass, tea bags, coffee grinds.

4) What types of compost exist?
exist the compost made by industries, and the homemade compost

5) What types of techniques exist for compost?
exist the compost that used at industries, it's the compost active-hot and the compost passive-cold.

6) How is realized the homemade compost?
make a hole of 1m of diameter, and 30-50 cm profundity, putting on acerrin at bottom, and putting on green materials or organic waste, cover the waste with acerrin and land, that's all only you have each eight or ten days remove the compost for oxygenate it

7) How long it will take to be my compost?
will take of six an eight weeks, but before,of you going to used, you have to remove the little stones
CURIOUS FACT
8) The organic waste, when it is decomposing generates approximately hot of 70°C, that help to kill the insects and microorganisms cause diseases.

9) In the compost generate ants, don't kill they.!! because they help to the decomposition process.

10)Compost is not watered frequently, you have to maintain not very wet, not too dry.

What is the pollution?

Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adeverse chage. Polluiton can take the form of chemical substaces or energy, such as noise, heat or light.

What type of pullution is there? Give 5 examples with a shor description

Noise Pollution

Noise pollution refers to undesirable levels of noises, this can come from the human activity and the:
  • Traffic
  • Airports
  • Railroads
  • Manufacturing plants
  • Construction or demolition
  • Concerts

Radioactive Pollution

The radioactive pollution is rare but extremely detrimental, and can have consequences like deadly diseases, like cancer, sterilization etc. deformations, it also can contribute to water and air pollution.
Sources of radioactive contamination include:
  • Nuclear power plant accidents or leakage
  • Improper nuclear waste disposal
  • Uranium mining operations

Light Pollution

Light pollution is the over illumination of an area that is considered obtrusive. It makes impossible to see stars, interferin with astronomical observation and personal enjoyment
  • Large cities
  • Billboards and advertising
  • Nighttime sporting events and other nighttime entertainment

Visual Pollution

Is caused bye undesirable, unattractive views. It may lower the quality of life in certain areas, or could impact property values and personal enjoyment.

Soil Pollution

Soil pollution sources include:
  • Hazardous waste and sewage spills
  • use of inorganic pesticides
  • Strip mining, deforestation.
  • littering
Soil contamination can lead to poor growth and reduced crop yields, loss of wildlife habitat, soil erosion, and desertification.

What are some of the greenest cities in the world?

 a) Where?

In Reykjavik, Iceland, in Sydney, Australia, in Copenhagen, Denmark.

 b) What are they doing?

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND: Its capital is the greenest city on the planet. Currently, the city is run entirely on green power, including geothermal and hydroelectricity, while the transport system in the city uses entirely hydrogen. SIYDENY, AUSTRALIA: Sidney is the city that should take the credits for the recent Earth hour, because it was the first city that started this, but also the fisrt one that "sent off" the old bulbs removing them with the new eco friendly light bulbs. The city of the Green Square has also developed an eficient food-waste disposal program.CONPENHAGEN, DENMARK: Copenhagen is a city where citizens are very aware for the environmental issues and they use bike rather than car. If I mention the offshore wind farm just beyond the coastline and the new metro system from 2000.

 c) How are they doing it?

They can make it's possible, 'cause they have the help of their government, and have the will to want change things and help reduce damage to our planet
